An association of leading organizations promoting the development of new design techniques for the automotive and related industries
Founded by Toyota and Maplesoft, the Physical Modeling Consortium (PMC) promotes the development of new design techniques for the automotive and related industries. Contributors to the consortium include most automotive OEMs as well as leading technology and solution providers.
The consortium was founded in response to critical challenges in modern industry. How can we accelerate the modeling process for ever-more complex design tasks? How can we ensure correctness and sound scientific principles in models of growing sophistication? Currently, specific issues already under discussion include rapid plant modeling for control applications, robust formulation techniques for automatic model generation, and application of symbolic computation technology.
